The Gulf Coast Regional Physicians Association Corporation (GCRPAC) contracts with payors on behalf of our physician membership. Physicians joining GCRPAC are treated as preferred providers with respect to the patient's payments of deductibles and coinsurance.
In order to be eligible to participate in this network, you must be on staff at Providence Hospital.
GCRPAC was formed in 1987 in response to the rapid growth in managed care that occurred during that period. The purpose of this entity is to strengthen the bargaining position of physicians with payors. Over the past few years the GCRPAC has improved its level of automation such that physicians can now select which plans they wish to participate in. We feel that giving the physicians the ability to opt out of a poorly performing plan forces our payors to be more accountable for their performance and considerate treatment of physician providers. GCRPAC owes a debt of gratitude to Dr. Nick Nichols, who provided leadership to our organization over a number of years. Dr. Phillip Madonia currently serves as President of GCRPAC.
